1500 plow
from what I hear is that we aren;t supposed to plow with a 1500?? is this true?? Is there a smaller plow tht we can buy?
I now this might sound stupid but at least I asked. BTW I did a search and nothing came up on the 1500.
hanks,

hanks,
You heard right, Dodge does not recommend using the 1500 for plowing. Only 2500 and up, the heavier duty trucks with Diesel........ It could probably be done with a 1500, just would be awful hard on it.
yah i dont believe the frt suspension of the 1500 is heavy enough to compensate for all that extra weight out there in front. i built a custom grille guard for my 02 ram and it weighed about 250lbs, had it on there for about 6 months, and it trashed the frt end. so i would highly not recommend plowing with a 1500 unless you absolutly have to. best of luck to ya
If i remember correctly installing a plow on the 1500 will void the warranty. Any of the trucks at the dealership round here with plows are 2500's and 3500. I've also heard that chevy and GMC are the only ones who warranty thier trucks with a plow. Not 100% sure on that though.
anyway, the 2/3500's have an optional snow plow package
you also dont have to have the Cummins to run a plow, the Hemi will do the job
