Default Brake light, ABS Light.

Lights went on, husband changed the rear drivers side brake. We bled the brakes. The lights are staying on, I noticed the ABS Light is on too. I've been searching and its talking about a rear speed sensor. But I also see there is a front sensor. How do we know which is the bad one.

Ok. The brake light was on. Why? Then you changed the rear drivers side brake? Why? It's generally frowned on to only replace one side. Should be done in pairs. Anyway, after this, the brake light is still on and the ABS light as well? Most likely still air in the system and has gotten into the aBS unit.

If the ABS lamp is on, then you should have either active or stored codes in the module. I would need the codes that in the module. You will need a scanner that can read all modules, not just the powertrain control module.

Always replace brakes in pairs. Not one wheel at a time.

They may have replace the one side, because of a leaking wheel cylinder. I just want to know what are the codes causing the ABS lamp to come on, that's all.

Yeah. That's true. But lack of that detailed info makes me think they did "brakes" on one side. Meaning replace shoes. I know where you are coming from. I wish folks would be more detailed so we don't jump to conclusions.

I see this every day as a tech. From the writers not getting all the information from the vehicle owners to make our jobs a bit more easy. Its going to be like all the time. You sometime need to step back and then answer what you may think that will fix the problem. You may not be always be correct, but you try.

I feel your pain. I can't imagine what it's like to actually have to deal with people bringing their vehicles in for service. Not many people can talk the talk.
