What is a "car starter"? I guess since you took it to a transmission shop, it is ok now? Is it normal now? You have a 2lo setting? A little more info would go a long way. Welcome to the forum. Read this, it will help you explain better.

So lets try this again, 2008 dodge ram 2500, 5.7 litre, few days ago started the truck with remote starter, climbed in and the 4lo light was on, electronic shift control on the dash was in the 2wd position, placed the truck in neutral and moved the transfer case switch from 2wd to 4hi to 4lo, no effect in switching the t-case back to 2wd, drove home in 4lo, serv 4wd light came on. Managed to get the truck into 4hi, took the truck to local transmission shop, the couldn't find anything wrong with it, the t-case performed perfected when range was selected, when i picked up the truck started the truck once again with the remote and once again the truck went into 4lo, shop kept the truck overnight, changed the electric motor at the transfer case, also the switch on the dash, still in 4lo, has anybody experienced this situation before?
New one on me, but I am used to mechanical linkage for the T-case.
Is your remote start factory, or aftermarket?
If aftermarket, it may be wired wrong, causing the T-case motor to shift into 4 lo.
If you start the truck remotely, then before driving, shut it off with the key, and then start with the key, does it shift into 2 hi?
Or will it shift into 2 hi?
My thinking is, once started remotely, and it shifts the T-case, it may not shift back (or shift normally) until you shut the engine off and restart using the key, instead of just inserting the key and turning it to run, while it's running from the remote start.
If that makes sense.

This ^^. Also try starting the truck normally with the key instead of remotely. See if it still does it.

if it's an aftermarket remote start I would definitely think that could be the source of your problem.
Does the same thing happen if you don't use the remote start? If not then you might want to start looking at that.

So here's the update, after market remote completely remove, took the truck to the dealer, explained situation, work order written up with details, expected a call thurs morn, called me at 4:30 pm today, there software showing a low voltage value on the t-case position sensor, loosely translated, short in wiring system, service manager says a couple of hrs. minimal, I crossed my fingers at that point, hopefully not a baNK LOAN NEEDED FOR THE BILL!
