Mopar Remote Start easy to install?
Thinking of buying one from a dealer on line and installing it myself. It sounds like it should be easier to install than a Viper or other Alarm/remote start system, and since I am only intersted in the remote start, I figure this might be the way to go.
What pushed me to the Mopar product is that it seems to be pre-wired (with the right kit) for my '05 Ram 1500 QC, maybe there are a few wires to tap into - I'm not sure.
I've had no luck searching online for a manual or install instructions.
Does anyone have any experience installing one of these?

RE: Mopar Remote Start easy to install?
hey there, new to the forums as of today just got my 05 hemi today! w00t anywhoo, i work at futureshop(1 1/2 years) installing car starters and everything else, i would HIGHLY recommend you have the dealer install it, we dont even sell alarms/starters w/o install, trust me, if you think there is only a few wires to tap into? then you should seriously look into having a professional install it, if your looking into having a starter put in with keyless entry on the remote? you are going to have to know about multi plexes (no offense) but judging by your tapping into a few wires comment, your not familiar with a multiplex system. there will be no warranty on your system and you will spend several hours installing it, (6-10) because i've been doing starters for some time now and it still takes me 4 hours to do a newer gen ram(just had an 03 in the shop today as a matter of fact). talk to dealership, im sure its not too bad, if its too expensive, get a viper 320hv or a nordic start NTW-2000 both great starters, i just installed a viper 791XV in my truck today w/ power windows on remote, and when i get my fiberglass taneau cover on actuators it will be added to the remote too! lol, if your in calgary, alberta PM me and we can figure some stuff out and u can stop by the store.

RE: Mopar Remote Start easy to install?
Thanks for all of the help. I originally wanted to get the MOPAR unit because I thought it had the right wiring harnesses in place and it would be a straightforward plug-in into the factory system.
I do know that an Alarm/remote start has tons and tons of wires that need to be hooked up. I've done simple alarms before that I got from J.C. Whitney, but I am not up to speed on the remote start (having lived in Florida all of my life, never thought I needed it).
So, I bought a Viper 791XV from the marketplace at Amazondotcom and had it installed yesterday by Circuit City. I talked to the right person at CC prior to buying and he assured me he and his team installed many of these alarms in a '05 Dodge Ram (he was right I guess since it only took him less than 4 hours to install).
The 791XV cost me $204 shipped (no tax) and the install cost me $214 total ($160 install, $5 shop fee, 2x $9.99 relays and $16 for some unknown installer handiwork). Total cost = $418.
The alarm works perfectly.
I did notice that the installer did NOT install the provided override toggle switch, and he left the valet/program button tucked up far under the dash. Other than that, I am very happy with my purchase.
I just wanted to provide the above info in case anyone was thinking about having this alarm installed.
