Banging bobbling sound over bumps
Been a while but im here. My 05 ram 1500 has a sound when i hit bigger road bumps. Sounds like a broken shock bobbing around under the truck. Shocks aren't broken, had it looked at twice underneath and cant find anything loose. Any ideas? Gas tank maybe? That's the only thing we didn't check. Sounds like its under or behind driver side.

I hate problems like this. lol You'd be amazed at how something "feels" from inside the truck, to what the problem actually is. Depending on what is bad/loose - can carry sound/feel throughout the truck. Sway bar end links are usually the culprit, whether they look good or not. I'd be absolutely amazed if it was the gas tank.

LOL, funny you mention the coke can. I was so irritated at one point I took everything out from under the seats, the back seats, took the jack out and then went on a real bumpy ride. Still there.
Shocks are not OEM, two year old Monroe Reflex's all around. Need new ones but they're not broken.
Exhaust is aftermarket but the sound has existed long before that was put on.
All the balljoints and SB links were checked, no play.
Spare tire is still tight as a drum.
What wasn't checked and would make sense is the axle u-bolts. That rear suspension took a beating hauling a Work and Play toy hauler, especially through NY city. Thought I broke the damn hitch off the roads were so bad. The search continues.
