Problem with my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT 5.7L Hemi, help!
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500, it's the 5.7l hemi SLT model. I've had this truck for a year in May. Never had any engine issues with it until now. Recently, my truck started stalling, it will completely die while idling, it'll be fine then the rpms will drop and it'll die, sometimes it'll catch itself though and get back up to 1000 rpm for idle speed then drop again, it will try to stall while I'm driving as well and i can feel a jerk while driving, but it is usually unsuccessful stalling due to the fact that the rpms are up and it's in motion. Every time it dies, it starts right back up without any hesitation. I've had my starting system checked and everything is fine, I've cleaned my throttle body and mass air flow sensor, my air filter is completely clean, I run 91 in my truck. I didn't use to however, the tank thats in it now is the second tank of 91 I've ever ran in it. I recently ran fuel injector cleaner through it and started putting 91 in it, it ran better than it ever did before until now. Maybe bad fuel? It shifts fine, all of my fluid levels are good. I am really unsure about what to do next. I don't want to dump a bunch of unnecessary parts into it. I've been told to maybe replace the throttle body. Thoughts on that?? ALSO, sometimes my voltmeter will drop and i will get a "check gauges" light on my dash, but when i turn the truck off and start it back up the gauge is fine..?
Thank you.

Are you getting any codes? How old is your battery?Have you checked your ground connections?Bad grounds can cause all types of issues. Many folks here ground their throttle body, but i'm not sure how much that helps.
Here is a link to a thread discussing the TB ground. If you read through it you will see how others did theirs.Though I would suggest checking your battery grounds first to eliminate that as an issue.
Sounds silly but.......have you checked your auto transmission fluid levels?
If low, the flat pancake filter will pull air into the valve body which can cause stalling and rough idle issues on these trucks.
If your on the low side and brake for lights, this worsens the problem with low fluid level as it's being pushed forwards in the pan, starving the transmission of fluid.
It's an easy check and could save your those $'s you don't want to spend.

Its a long shot but check your battery terminals, when mine are corroded my WCM acts up so my remote range is about 3 feet and it doesent read my key transponder properly and will do the same thing. Also try a spare key. Has to happen many times in a row to throw a code. Leaving the key disconnected and resetting doesent hurt either.
