Default 2008 Ram 1500- HID problem- Help!

Hey guys. Need some help here. I have had HID’s in my truck since it was new in 2008. I have always used a relay on headlights since you need in this truck to make the lights work. I had the right side go out recently so I decided to start by changing the bulb. Still nothing. Changed ballast. Still nothing. Then I decide maybe relay kit went bad but was still lighting the left side. Still nothing . I don’t know what else to check. At this point I have all new wiring, relay, bulb, and ballast and the right side will still not light. I have also played with the ground and tried all different places on bare as bare metal . I never had any problems until now and have not changed anything else that would have affected this. Please help!

Have you measured to see if voltage is present at the factory plug?

has to be if its turning on the left side no? Could the fuse for truck be blown but still light the left side? One simple thing I haven't checked but didn't think I needed to.

FYI- I am using the relay which only using the left side factory harness and the right side has nothing plugged in- been like that for 7 years. Another question. I notice a little bit of corrosion on the factory plug when I swapped out the new relay harness. I put some electrical grease on there. Is it possible no enough juice is flowing to power up that right side and why only the left one working? I am stumped at this point.

Do you have a multimeter or even a test light? Check for voltage at the socket, then work your way up to the ballast input and output. So your relay for right side feeds from left or right headlight? Maybe you just got a bad replacement part.

yes the relay plugs nto left factory headlight harness and branches to left and right light. The right side factory plug is not used with this relay. I did try plugging in the right side relay plug into left light that is working and that worked. I am going to try another new ballast maybe one I have isn't good. Been sitting around for 5+ years but never used. Weird.

Like i said, before throwing parts into it a quick check with a test light will find the problem for you. They're only a couple bucks. Make sure theres power at the ballast input first you may have just chaffed a wire somewhere.

I did try the test light and wasn't getting a signal, could be user error LOL!
