For future thought, you might want to stamp your wheels, including the spare with a number that can be verified.

This happened to me when tools were stolen from my company vehicle a few years ago. Went to a local used tool store on a Saturday looking to replace some of what had been stolen.

Gee, there is my Makita drill and case. Asked the counter guy who he bought it from. He was a reall a**hole. Went to the cops, they came, verified the last 4 digits of my social security number I had engraved on the drill and I got my drill back.

They made him search his records for the seller. Cops got a warrant and busted the guy.He got 1 to 3 years in slammer. The sgt assigned to the case said that using the last 4 digits of my ssn made it a no brainer on id'ing my stolen property and the judge had no problem signing a search warrant based on that.

Sometimes we have to be smarter than they are.

Man it sure sounds like his wheels are stolen. I also noticed he has only 1 item sold before this sale.

It's a hard case to make without any kind of concrete proof. If I were you, I'd pose as a potential buyer and say something like "I'm not sure I want to spend that kind of money with someone who only has one positive transaction" and see what kind of things he says to try and reassure you. Also, I'd ask him where he gets his supply from. Of course, he's not going to say he's selling stolen property but at least it may give you some clues to go off of. I mean if he says something like "Oh, there is a supplier I work with in such and such an area." Well, if no such supplier exists in that area, then that is another hole in his story. Granted, this is a bit of a stretch, but maybe you'd get lucky and be able to find something out. If you do get any kind of proof, report it to eBay and they will ban him from doing business on their site. You have a bit of an uphill climb ahead of you, but good luck.

i sent him a message telling him i was interested in buying them, and asked him if he could give me some info on how he obtained them, what kind of condition they are in, and so forth. also asked him how it was possible for him to sell so many rims with only 1 positive transaction, let yall know what he has to say back.

also, if you check into the guy that left that positive remark, he just bought a set of 20" rims from this guy back on the 22nd, interesting, huh

God bless the internet. Look how worked up everyone is getting over this stuff. Innocent until proven guilty right? Or just buy your wheels, set up a meeting to pay/pick up the rims and kick his *** when he gets there. Steal a couple of his front teeth to see how he likes being victimized.

I like the idea of stealing a couple of his front teeth. That is pretty funny.

I need to check to see if he can get me a nav radio pretty cheap.....LOL.

I wonder how big a check the insurance company is going to give you for the depreciation of your vehicle. Because it has lost a lot of value and it now has a record. So make sure they dont stiff you by just paying for the repairs.

Man sorry about the loss! Down here in DFW we are getting a rash of car thefts!!! Its as if the cops don't care. I know they do but they are more worried about the murders and such. Yeah, I agree that this little Ebay boy sounds a little suspicios!

Well I am sure it will be a couple of weeks until my trucks repaired, because they tore it all to hell. I will have a body filled piece of crap by the time they are done getting all the dents and scrapes out of the truck. Mean while some one is making 200,000 grand a year tax free selling our stolen stuff. Next time you get a killer deal on ebay think about the poor soul who lost that piece, and not just the piece you might of bought but all the damage that the vehicle sustained for the thief to get it. I get so angry everytime I even think of my new truck, but then am thankfull that my two kids and wife are ok and realize that it is just a truck and could have been alot worse if they broke into my home. I am now moving, I met with a realestate lady the day my truck got took now the for sale sign goes out tomorrow. Wish me luck, it is going to be a rough ride moving in winter with a 6 week old and a 2 year old, and a wife whose out of work to take care of the family. OHHHH BOY THINGS ARE GONNA BE TIGHT!!!
