oil pan replacement question?

Question oil pan replacement question?

My oil pan is rusty and I found a hole and a few small leaks so I want to replace it.But I was told I may have to jack up the engine to replace it is this true?Its an 03 ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi.

they had to put the parts for the 4 wheel drive someplace... just kidding

most cars and trucks are this way... has been since the 60's.

Yes. If you crawl under your truck and look, you will see the "stuff" thats in the way which necessitates raising the engine. Or you can remove the front drivetrain....whichever is easier....

thanks for the info just wondering what would a shop charge me to do it ?I dotn have time to get into all that im sure its going to be a lot grrrr.

Labor rates vary wildly. Your best bet is to call around for prices.

Roger That,, depending on the job.. could very by 40 dollars per hour.

40 bucks an hour?not here where i live shops charge 100 bucks an hour in new england

He said cound VARY by $40 an hour. Not cost $40 an hour.....
