Default How Safe to Drive with Bad Front U Joints

So, my steering today had a small wobble to it when turning at slow speeds Read on here that the u joints need replaced.

I need to drive it on a trip this weekend and do not have time to change them. Is it okay to drive the truck? Can anything serious happen? Also, they are not making any noise.

No way to answer that. U joints can be bad and not make noise.

I've driven my lifted one all around and from VA to CT with a blown out Front Drive Shaft that sounded like coins grinding around in a differential with no problems.

You should be fine

Are you Sure.. its the U-joint, CV joint.. or a front wheel bearing...

have it inspected... even if its a driveshaft part.. it is still part of the steering system.

Could be anything. You need to inspect to find out what part is failing. Only that will determine if it's safe to drive.

I turned the wheel all the way and turned the tire by hand and only the driver side would turn a 1/4 turn then making a clicking noise.

So, I am pretty sure it is a u joint.

I went to two local autoparts store no one has the greasable u joints in stock. They asked me which one it is and I told them the one on the front. They said there is two on the front? Guess I am confused now?

What model truck do you have. The 1500's have CV joints half axles. The 2500 & 3500 have U-joints on the front axles.
