Default 2003 differential assembly

I own a 2003 Ram 1500 4x2 and I need the whole differential assembly. Its been very hard to find it and I wanted to know if the differential from other Rams fit my truck. Would like to know if I could buy an 07 differential assembly for my 03.

buy a junk yard axle, gut the old parts & have a shop rebuild it, then just swap out your old axle, on one of those 3 days weekends before its cold

You should be able to use anything from an 02-08 1500.

Default Swapped mine last year

I swapped my rear diff out with an 02 or 03 2 wheel drive unit on my 02 1500 4wd when my pinion but fell out and I lost my drive shaft! I noticed that the 2wd rear I installed did not have the flat metal stopper plates welded onto it, like my 4wd unit had. I cut them off of my original rear and still have not welded them on the replacement 2wd rear, but it hasn't been an issue. Be sure to use new u-bolts and a new pinion nut if you remove it from the replacement rear or need to install one. Good luck!
