Default 2005 ram 1500 trans. problem?

I have an 05 ram 1500 quad cab with over 184,000 miles. Lately I have had a problem with the rpms jumping up and down at 45mph. I'm turning around 1500 rpms then the rpms will jump up 500 rpms then back to 1500 rpms. I noticed that it gets worse in colder temperatures around 42 degreed and lower. Is the trany slipping or is the shift solenoid going bad? Any info would be appreciated.

No bands to adjust on an RFE trans. I'd do a fuel system cleaning and/or tuneup.

Ok SmokinJoe02 I'll do a fuel system cleaning and see hoe it goes. I guess my next question is where are the fuel filters located?

Shouldn't need to remove the filters. Just try this......

Go buy 3 bottles of Chevron Techron from AutoZone or Advance. Run your current tank of gas to 1/8 of a tank, pour 1 bottle in, fill with Super Unleaded to 1/4 of a tank, drive it like you stole it. Repeat with bottle #2, again fill with SU to 1/4 of tank, drive like you stole it. Add the 3rd bottle and fill with SU all the way up and drive it normal. You should be able to tell the difference now.
