Default Wiper Motor

Have a 2006 Ram 2500 diesel TR. Wiper motor as parking where it was when switch was turned off. Replaced it and now the delay sometimes goes three or four times before stopping. Also not always stopping when switched off. I leaning towards a bad switch but was wondering if there's a relay somewhere in between the switch and motor that can be hanging up and causing the problem? I appreciate any help I can get with this.

Welcome to the forum. It is possibly the switch. I think that the wipers are controlled by the PCM like everything else on the truck.

wipers are controlled by the pcm, I just changed out my wiper motor for the second time. The "Cardone" remanufactured one finally gave up the ghost due to a bad motor or brushes. There is a connection box attached to the motor that transfers power from wiper drive shaft to motor for timing and such. These contacts after a while, get corroded or oxidized and start causing problems like you describe (OP). Sometimes this contact box can be removed, cleaned and reinstalled, and the wipers will work fine again for a while. If you do decide to replace the wiper drive motor (rockauto), make sure you pull the cowl off and check the wiring configuration. There are actually three different setups available for my 2005. Mine happen to be 5 blade contacts all in a row, the other is 5, in a 3-2 block.
