Start with the simple maintenance items first. I'd do the fluid change and put the right amount in. Funny how fluid level will affect things. Make sure once you change it, do the right to left wheel lock turns to get it flowing and check it again. If it was the wrong fluid in there, I'd change it out again in a month or so.

Okay, so fluid change was no help. Well, can't say NO help. It did ease up SOME. I'm talking very, very little at low speeds. The fluid seemed to be Power Steering fluid tho. It was very red and thin, not like tranny fluid that seems to be thicker. Any other options?

if the fluid type is correct atf-4 and level is good and the belt tensioner is functioning ok, it could be the flow control valve in the pump sticking, make sure you have the proper fluid in it first, if the problem is still there then change up the pump.

ATF+4 = correct cherry juice

Dextron IV (4) WRONG juice.

Due note, ATF+4 is not the thick tranny fluid like the old days.
