Indian rope trick

Just surgically replace the one broken spring (if that is really what it is)

The first thing is to determine which cylinder it. There are several ways to figure this out. Scanner should show a misfire and cylinder number. OR you could disconnect one ignition coil at a time and determine which one DOES NOT make a difference... OR when the engine is cold, start it for only 30 seconds and then search for a cold cylinder at the exhaust manifold with a laser thermometer(or simply touch the exhaust manifold with your hand (carefully) and find the cooler cylinder (may need to run more or less) ... and probably a dozen more ways

Hey, good luck. I hope this helped and I certainly have more

Please, please return and let us know what you end up doing and perhaps you won't mind telling what it costs in 2023 dollars...
If it weren't so warm outside I might had been in Vegas, perhaps in November

Thought I would get back to you kind folks who answered my holler for help.
I had baby towed to a speed shop here in Vegas who specializes in our motors. He said compression was good and valve springs were all good. He said i blew a valve cover gasket and flooded the spark plug in that cylinder. He changed my EGR valve, fresh NGK plugs and valve cover gaskets for a G and some change.
I’m amazed that I was buried at 7k for over a second before I could let off. 2nd prime is a mean gear configuration and from now on when in tow/haul( which by the way is one reason this 545RFE is still working beautifully as it is always in a gear and causes less heat) I will try not to be in WOT for too long. The motor loves to run and enjoys the 3k-4K range and gets exceptional mileage for the horsepower and the enjoyment of driving the old truck. The daughter of the owner of the shop let me know she thought my truck is beautiful? I told her that is what stuff looks like when you don’t let anybody touch it. I truly am proud to have been maintaining such a good vehicle but I knew she was a Mercedes from the beginning as I have had 3 W123’s over the years.
I appreciate all your help

So the happiness was short-lived. When I got the truck back I was wearing some nice clothes and did not climb up to look at a red plastic plug that was placed in my coolant overflow tank and reservoir. I assumed a hole was in it as I know it cannot be charged. I made the mistake of driving the truck like that and it blew out my radiator cap first and then blew a hole in my radiator. I still have not said anything to the shop as I am not sure how to approach this. I have already gotten the 400+ dollar Mopar radiator and the fluids plus I got a mishimoto 180 t-stat. I am always happy to improve my vehicles but in this case I am not sure if it was sabatoge. They changed out the spark plugs and the egr valve. The overflow tube was found in the wheel well just below the egr valve replaced by them. How could they have not seen the hose laying there?
What would you guys do in my situation. Really bummed about this and I am older now and really don't want to start any battles. Thanks for any adult ways of handling this or should I just chalk it up to don't trust people you have never used before?

Call 'em and have a chat. See what they have to say.

If you aren't going to do a custom tune for that 180 stat, stick with stock temp. Otherwise, it annoys the PCM. Which will, in turn, annoy you.

Yeah man I am still really pissed off about it so I am waiting until I can have some assimilance of composure as I ask them why they hurt my baby
That is the professional approach however this is my family and I am not sure if it was intentional. Would you let something leave your shop with it being a ticking time-bomb. They don't have a clue what I know about these motors and sent me off for my coolant system to be pressurized. Could I ask what else could I possibly have a problem with due to the pressurization. Truck has fresh Mopar upper and lower and I am sure the fresh Mopar water pump helped to pop the radiator. Thanks and I know you are absolutely correct and will do so but I think I will repair first and show up and do a little stand-around if they even will?

I don't let ANYTHING go if I have questions about it...... ESPECIALLY NOT if I KNOW it's going to be a problem. I really don't like dealing with angry customers. It just ain't any fun.

The fact that they are family might be WHY they thought they could get away with it...... But yeah, cool off first, then have a chat.

Likely didn't damage anything else. Once the weak link gives, there is no more pressure.
