Default Problem after installing CAI

I installed a K&N CAI last night anf cranked my truck and everything seemed ok. I cranked it this morning got a half mile in the neighborhood and the check engine light came on along with the ETC light (red lightning bolt) and it seemed like the my motor was choking out. I thankfully got it back to the house and saw that the air temp sensor that goes into the intake seemed to be broken. I crank it in the driveway and it sounds like it is about to choke out then revs up to about 2000 rpms and repeats. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a video of what it sounds like but don't know how to post it

after an install, the computer needs to relearn the new in coming air, disconnect the negative battery cable for about 20 minutes, after reconnecting, start and stop truck 3 times, on the third time leave truck running for about 5 minutes to relearn the new incoming air, once its learned, take truck for a strong run. you will see a big difference in how it performs.

If your IAT seemed to be broken, you should replace it.

That's interesting. I didn't have to do anything when I installed my CAI. What was the code from the check engine light?

Replace that sensor and fire it up. You should not have to reset anything

I let it sit for about 5 minutes but don't think it learned much. Should i just let it run until it idles at the correct rpm again? The lightning bolt is flashing which they say it needs to be fixed ASAP

What is the code from the check engine light? That will tell you what's wrong.

It's not going to be the IAT... I have run my truck with it unplugged before and it doesn't cause idling issues or the infamous lightning bolt to appear. Sounds like a MAP sensor or time for a new throttle body. Did you clean the throttle body before installing the cold air intake?

Also these trucks don't have a mass airflow sensor
