Yes, I still have this same set up today. Everything is still working fine. I haven't even had any bulb failures since doing this conversion. As mentioned above, you could go the replacement route, but when I did this originally, I was looking for the stock look with LED advantages. At the time I did this, all the after market tail lights looked cheap... didn't care for them. So, yes the rewiring has stood the test of time.
