5w30 weight it to thin if you're going to beat your truck, specialy 5.7 hemi..
even in some of those manual u find in pep boy, murray etc. states not to use 5w30
for any kind of high speed or high rpm driving. use 5w30 for winter only and 10w30
4 the summer or when u know u going to beat ur truck!!!!!!!!!!!

My '05 requires 5W20, but I'll be putting in Amsoil 0W30 at my next oil change (currently has synthetic in it now).

I run Valvoline 5W30 in my 2004 hemi, and I love it. I use my truck for work, hauling and pulling alot, and idling alot in dusty conditions (road construction) I don't use synthetic because I like changing my oil every 3000 or 4000 miles because of the dusty conditions, and I can't afford to use synthetic and change oil every month and a half or 2 months.

Exactly what I use. It was on sale for $20.xx the other day (5qt jug) and I picked up enough for this last oil change. Should have picked up more.

i run royal purple 5w20 and have been very pleased with it. as far as not being able to go back to regular oil after using synthetic , that is not true , after all syntec blend is a mix between oil and synthetic.
