Default "02 1500 pickup ac condenser fan not working

I have an 02 1500 pickup with a 5.9 engine. The ac works when moving down the road but not at idle?? The system has plenty of refrigerant, I have unplugged the condenser fan and jumped it to the battery and it works?? What tells the condenser fan to kick on?? Or, now what do I do??

Ok. So with the ac on, see if you have power to the fan.

Lightbulb

Does the AC Clutch engage at idle, but not the fan?

Double check FUSE 39, it is the one that provides power to the relay and fan.

Test light or voltmeter preferable to eyeball. Reseat the fuse.

If you touch pin 86 of the Condenser Fan Relay with a jumper to ground, it should engage the relay to provide power to the Condenser Fan.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU ONLY APPLY GROUND TO PIN 86, ALL THE OTHERS HAVE 12 VOLTS ON THEM!!!
This is just for testing the operation of the relay and fan.

This is normally controlled by the PCM applying the ground thru IPM Connector 1 pin 23.
