Default 2005 Ram 1500 check gauges/oil pressure

Every morning when I start the truck the oil pressure gauge never goes up and my check gauges light comes on. So I have to start it a second time before it reads. This gets very annoying having to start my truck two times in a row. It seems to do it more often when it is cold outside.

Thanks

Mines been doing that at cold start for years. I live at 10,300' and when we just started to get mornings near 0° it started happening occosionally again. I'll shut off the truck and restart once warmed up when it happens, just to get "check gauges" light to go away.

Do your front timing cover and water pump gaskets seal properly? Mine had a slight leak above the sender and caused it to not work. Changing the sender worked for a while until the new one got wet

Replace sender, test pressure with pressure gauge after removing sender. Run a round of motor flush to clean up oil passages. I did all these things when I heard the "ding".
