I was having an issue with it not starting, sometimes I turned the key on and all my gages were dead and it wouldn't start. When I turned the key on and the gages worked it would start, now it's not starting AT ALL even when gages work and it's throwing a P1388 code...... The guy I got it from said he changed the PCM , but I don't know for sure. I got it cheap bc of this problem. Any ideas on what's wrong with it??

For whatever reason, the PCM is annoyed with the ASD relay control. It *might* be as easy as a bad relay, but, I suspect that would be far too easy. (I don't know if you can just swap relays around on the third gens....) If the ASD relay isn't working properly, no power to coil, or fuel injectors, so no, it won't run.

Moving this to the third gen ram tech section.

 

There's NO power to the ASD relay. Not when spinning over either.

 

When using a power probe to add power to the relay it starts up and runs.
