$40.000 TRUCK, You would think they could of at LEAST put a lite under the hood. Any others get their 05 without a lite under the hood? Also, how much does a freakin ash-tray lite cost?

Not sure about the underhood light, but the ashtray/cupholder light is around $15 and about a 5 minute install if you are prewired for it. Mine was.

Your logic has been applied to may items on the ram, like better brakes, rear wheel well liners, etc, etc, etc. If I were building and selling trucks, I wouldn't include them in trucks that cost $80,000 as long as I could sell them without. It's obvious they sell without those items. Free Enterprise.

 

Mine had them...I don't remember, but it seems like they came with a "convenience package" option or something to that effect. Can't disagree with your premise, though. For the $ these things are, why is it an option, but Don's right...we all bought them that way, so DC figures what the heck...

 

Mine has them, but it's part of a package called light group or something like that.
I wish mine had UConnect.

 

1st of all....daytonas dont cost 40k.....they are about 33-35k and after rebates you should have gotten it for around 30-32 out the door.

if you DID spend 40k on it....then you got ripped BIG TIME!....sorry if thats the case.....

My 05 laramie with every option (hemi, leather, heated seats, power everything, 2-zone climate, infintiy, radio control steering wheel, AWD, tow package, sport package, etc.) only listed at 44k and I ended paying about 37,500 after rebates...



anyway....I have a light in my ashtray, cupholder, and under my hood......

Maybe thats an option only given under a more "luxurious" setup if you will.

I know the daytona is kinda bare bones on the inside.....its mostly about show on the outside.

 

I have 1 in my ash tray as well, and I keep a 4 DD mag light in the truck it's better than ANY under the hood light.

 

If anybody has part #s, post em.I would like to have these options put in.

 

I'm thinking of just rigging up some hi intensity white leds in the ashtray and cup holder.

 

Go to www.dodgeparts.com. You will need to order both the under hood wiring harness ($23.48) and the under hood light ($14.04). They are listed for 2004-2005.

 

Here's my remedy...stop smoking...and upkeep your engine...that way you will never have to use the ashtray...and you won't have to open the hood in the dark it works for me...it's called nicotine polacrilex...
