Fuel Pump Kill switch, spare tire lock and fog lights
Hello,
I just got a 06 1500 with a manual trans. I would like to install a fuel pump kill switch. Any ideas on how to do this or were to buy one would be helpful. I'm also looking to lock up the spare tire any ideas on how I can do that. And last thing is I want to install fog lights I have the holes in the bumper, but there are some lines in them how do I take them out and put the the fog lights in. Iwould also like for the fog lights to stay on with the headlights.
Thanks for the Help

1. Full pump kill switch-As far as I know, I'm not aware of a 'kit' that you can buy to install one. Any particular reason why you want one? Probability of being in a wreck where the tank 'blows up' is extremely low. A huge fire would be more likely from a split/punctured tank and even that would be hard considering the tank is between the frame. Probability of having trouble with an add on system (if you can even do it) is very high. If it is theft you are worried about there are some really good aftermarket systems that can shut everything down (ignition, fuel pump, etc).
2. Spare tire lock-Use a plastic coated chain or a plastic coated cable with a lock. Don't forget to get a lock that has a cover for the key hole. Be sure to keep the key in the truck.
3. Fog Lights-Easy as ordering the kit and putting them on. You can get the Mopar kit from one of the vendors. It even includes the OE headlight **** to turn them on.

If you are going to the dealer for other stuff you may as well look at the factory spare lock. My truck came with it and though I have not used it to drop my tire theives seem to know that dodge has this feture. I see zero dangeling spare cables under Ram trucks. Spare tires in Chicago feed a lot of Crackheads addictions

As far as the fuel pump goes, the factory security system does that. If the truck is started without the sentry key, it shuts the fuel pump off after a few seconds. I believe you can add this option after the build, but it is more expensive than buying it as part of the original build. Some of the others here on the forum might be able to tell you the best place to purchase it.

Just go to a reputable car audio store (not HiFiBuys, Best Buy, etc) and ask for the best theft deterrent with shock sensors. It will run you a couple of hundred dollars and most systems will shut down the electronics and fuel, etc.
