I'm not sure if this is normal or not and hoping someone can help me out. Just got an 03 dodge ram 1500 4.7l v8 quad cab. When I remove the key from ignition it beeps 3 times. Not normal beep like seat belt sounds.

could the truck have alarm? I didn't get much information from previous owner and no manual at this time.

 

I know of a few aftermarket sound systems that give a 3 beep from the speakers that there is not an amplifier in use(or needs plugged in).OR is alarm system on?Depending on factory system need to check with any MOPAR dealer on which system is in veh and operating acc.Just a thought!!!!!!!!

 

Aftermarket stereo is most likely.

 

Its an aftermarket radio, Sony xplod. Could the beeps mean the radio wasnt hooked up correctly?

 

It's hooked up correct.There are 3 setup on the back Contact sony or stero shop to get a instruction book for it .I have a 5705 Xplode in my ride with just a sub.It fills a standard cab just right.........Xplode systems are also XM ready and play MP3

 

I have one of those in my boat. When the power is turned off the unit beeps.
