change gears or what?
I'm looking at buying a used ram and can find one with every option it seems but one so one of my questions was....
If I can find one with the 17s and I want the 20s would it be best to change the gears in order to have it be the same as oem? Would it be that simple or are there other differences? I'm wanting a qc and would also like the 4x4.

so if I bought one with the 17s i should just change the gears out as well? Would the dealership or someone be able to change the computer or what?

RE: change gears or what?
the AAM 1050 axel that comes on the ram 1500 does have a LSD option. but it is not the standard LSD we are used to that has clutch packs, it works off worm screws and sometimes takes some application of the brake pedal to lock in.
Ive done some high boost 3rd gear launches and left some nice black parallel lines, as well as leaving a nice BCOD behind me I would try 4th gear but I'm not sure the stock clutch could handle it
BCOD = Black Cloud Of Death. . .I love my Cummins[8D]

You don't need to have the pcm programmed for gear changes, just tire diameter changes.
The speedo is read off of the ring gear, so no matter what gears you have its still right on.
When you change tire diameter, you'll have to get he dealer to make the change to your pcm.
