Default Engine swap 08 dodge ram 1500

I was just wondering how hard it is and how much it might cost to swap my 3.7 engine to a v8. Not sure if I can put a 4.8. I'd like a hemi but then again I just want something that wouldn't be too bad I'm gas. I drive a lot.

You can. A 4.8 is not a dodge engine though, so that swap would not be the easiest. Search this section for "engine swap". Tons of info. Don't expect any swap to affect mileage that much. Its a full size truck.

It'll be a royal pain, especially with a CANbus vehicle. 3.7 isn't fly-by-wire but the 4.7 and 5.7 for 08 are. Whole host of electronics and wiring to figure, plus possibly the trans, cooling system & accessories. You'll either need cubic dollars to get someone to do it, or have the know how with the money to get all the parts you need.
