Having some engine trouble looking for help
Hey all, first time poster here and I just got my dodge a few weeks ago. I wanted a summer project but its turning into a bit of a nightmare. It started off with idling a little rough and some hesitation between 1500-2500 rpm more noticeable at higher speeds. Ive tried swapping out fuel injectors, doing a disconnect on the injectors to see which ones cause the truck to run rougher to get an idea for those. No avail on that, I've since tried a compression test and noticed all the spark plugs they apparently just changed out were solid black. the first plug on the drivers right side (I can't remember if that is 1 or 2 in the firing order) came up with no compression the rest sat around 150 or 120 psi before and between 150-180 after adding a small amount of oil.
From my research so far I've found it could be burnt valves or bad valve seals as a cause for this, but I'm starting to get outside my element on knowledge of vehicles and am wondering if someone could help me figure out if I'm headed in the right direction or if there are some other tests I could try and do before jumping on tearing out the whole engine.
