Default Help w/insane wheel hop

Lowered my 03 1500 approx 3" in the front and 4.5" in the rear. Front springs and rear shackle kit-DJM. It has unmanageable wheel hop in the rear. I have played w/the pinion angle but it gets no better or worse. I have not changed the shocks yet. Any simple suggestions before I break something?

Get some better shocks for sure. They don't have very good dampening ability once they are all the way compressed. Need to get some shocks specifically for a dropped application.

I don't think you can get rid of wheel hop with a leaf spring suspension unless you add some sort of ladder bar or stiffening structure to the suspension..

A great suspension book is a SAE published "Handbook of Suspension Design" You can find it on SAE.org or Amazon. Great bathroom reading.

Get some traction bars. Try www.moesmetalworks.com he makes some specifically for our trucks, and even for the flip kit rear ends. He does great work.

On my '95 silverado, I went with the Bell Tech spindles up front & the shackles/ hangers in the rear. Also put on Toxic shocks & the truck rode like it came from the factory that way.

Slapper bars like those will work. I prefer a lift bar setup though. It all depends on what you've used in the past i guess.

There has been discussion on other forums about wheel hop also

I came up with a solution.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
