Default 02 Ram 1500 rear end/ABS check engine Brake light

Just bought an 02 Ram 1500. ABS and brake lights were on. Fella I bought it from said he put a different rear end in it. He said he went from 4.10 to 3.9 and that is what's throwing the lights on. (Check engine too) Any way to turn the lights out without reprogramming the computer? He said he was told $700 to reprogram.

I would call the dealer, and see what they have to say. It is about 15 minutes worth of work, I can't believe they would want to charge that much money for it.

I DO hope that is a 2 wheel drive truck?

That makes your 4x4 useless. Instead of re-programming the PCM, I would look for another diff, with the right gears, or, re-gear the one that's in there. If you try and use 4x4 the way it is, stuff is going to blow up.
