Default New here wit a tail light question....

Hi everyone I'm new here. I own a 2005 Dodge Hemi crew cab 1500. I am baffled because my lower half of the tail lights will come on randomly and after a minute or two go off. Any suggestions of where to start looking will be appreciated.

Pull the entire light assy off and look for a chafed wire where the harness passes through the bed. The holes are sharp and they often chafe through and ground out to the steel bed.

Have you removed the assembly and looked at the wires, as mentioned above? It's not hard to do. If the wiring looks good, try changing out the bulbs. Again, pretty cheap and not difficult to do in the driveway. Start easy and cheap before throwing real time and money into it.
