Truck ran fine until this morning and no start. It fires but will not start. Need help, where do I start

 

It fires? Not real clear on the issue here..... Could try stepping on the gas, holding it on the floor, and give it a crank. See if it starts.

 

Will try. Do you think that it is flooded? Before I accidentally erased my codes I remember 301 to 304 and 455

 

I tried it and no go, but it fired and made some strange noises, not back firing

 

Need to check fuel pressure.......

 

I have pressure in the rail but it seems weak, I have no way to test it.

 

Local parts store should be willing to rent you a gauge. (you get your money back when you return it.)

Well, I went to HF and bought a tester, got back home and hooked it up, set the gauge so I could see it from the cab, turned the key and it started on the first round and stayed running with 50# pressure. Now it starts and runs just fine and no trouble codes at all. What do we think of that?

 

We think it was a cheap fix?

Maybe there was some air trapped in the line, or something equally as silly. Pressure is good though, that's what ya want.
