Default Ignition related transmission problems

I have a 2006 dodge 2500 with a cummins. I believe the ignition is the cause of my radio coming on intermittently. I can pull the key out while the engine is running and the key is on the running position. I also have to turn the key very far beyond what I should in order to start the truck. This problem has gotten worse the last couple of weeks. Now I am experiencing the transmission overheat light come on, and the od to turn off. I have taken it to a shop and they diagnosed the following codes.
P0713 transmission temp sensor high.
P0708 transmission range sensor.
The fluid level is full. The transmission is not towing anything. The transmission is not overheating. The fluid smells ok. The fluid temp is not overheating.
As explained to me today by the technician who computer diagnosed the codes. The problem is a bad sensor in the transmission, or a short in the system.
Question: Can my ignition, that I know is bad, be the source of the short.

You have 3 solenoids in there, a governor pressure a governor sensor and a lock up solenoid which has temp sensor as part of harness. You could change the lock up solenoid and see what happens.
