Default 04 ram 1500 4.7 broken exhaust pipe help

I have a 2004 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 single exhaust on truck

Pipe broke from the y pipe after the catalytic converter towards the back.
See picture.

Can this be fixed with a section of pipe from a exhaust shop?
On this truck the C-converter and y pipe is all 1 piece and hope a shop can add a fabricate pipe section

Yes, it can. Provided they actually will do it..... Worth calling around, and asking anyway.

Live here in Boston Ma and was going to Meineke muffler shop in the morning to see if they can fix, if not it will be a whole new y pipe with cat about $1000+ and dont have the cash for the fix.

So I intend to try myself with an Idea I saw on You tube this morning. Person fixed his exhaust manifold with furnace cement from Home depot and exhaust pipe wrap. I'll just put cement on the wrap and then wrap the pipe as good as I can. Then add more cement over the wrap to make a good bond. Then get some thin sheet aluminum and wrap and clamp as good as I can. I know its not the thing to do but I'm hoping the muffler shop will fix as I need an inspection sticker in 2 months by the end of march.
Thing is its been so cold here in Boston but in the single digits past week or so and just got 16 inches of snow.

Suppose to warm up Thursday to 45 degrees and will attempt to do it then. Let ya all know what fix worked out for me.

thanks for the reply

I would get a short piece of pipe to stick in there, to hold things in place...... If you have a buddy with an electric welder, makes the job easy.

Thats a great idea but dont know if i could move the pipe and sneak in a short piece of pipe. Don't know the inside diameter of pipe but sure i could measure. I know autozone and some parts stores use to sell cut pieces of pipe for fixing these proplems.

Might have to get serious with the pipe to move it enough. I usually put my foot on the muffler, and give it a shove, and see how much room I can get that way......
