Default 2007 Dodge Ram 3.7L Shift Lever stuck in park

I have read a few forums about the issue that I am having, but I haven't found any help yet. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram with a 3.7L. For the last 2 years, when the weather starts getting cold outside my truck tends to get stuck in park. It only does it when it is cold and will normally shift if I let the truck run for 10-15 minutes before trying to shift it our of park. My initial thought was a faulty brake switch, but the brake lights work correctly when the pedal is pushed. I have never had this issue in the summer. My local dealership charges nearly $200 just for a diagnosis, so I am trying to avoid taking it to the dealer. Does anybody have any suggestions other than the brake switch? Thanks for the help!

I suspect there is a separate circuit in the brake switch for the brake/shifter interlok, might wanna have a look at that. Wiring diagrams would be REALLY helpful.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to look more into the brake switch, but I have noticed that I can hear the release click when I apply the brakes but it still seems to be stuck.
