Default rear end/4x4 conflict

I have an '02 Ram 1500 4x4. The rear end was roaring as a bearing going out tends to do. Instead of rebuilding the rear end, I opted to buy a posi rear end from a guy selling parts. All went well for the install until here recently when I shifted the transfer case into 4HI. Now the truck wants to pull and slide all over. gear ratios are stock 3.55 and that is what I purchased from the guy, a posi 3.55. I don't do much mechanic work so, what is the conflict that I am missing? Thanks in advance

What do you mean by 'pull and slide'? Could you expand on that a bit?

You positive it was a 3.55 and not a 3.31?
