They aren't that bad compared to some others and they are well worth it. I would never use those cheap aluminum blocks some companies sell.

No doubt the extruded aluminum pieces probably aren't advisable. However, there's still plenty of cast iron options out there (which is what OEM is) that are less than half the price.

That said, TGC is one of the few places I was able to find blocks that are a full 3" wide.
