Default Shutter while driving

I have a 2005 1500 with the 4.7. When accelerating from a stop, it shutters for a second, then it’s fine. The worst issue is driving down the highway. It is shuttering and almost feels like I am riding with no suspension. It is an intermittent issue, but is very frequent. If I stomp on it, or let off the gas, it goes away for a little bit. I was thinking it was the torque converter shutters, so I bought a new one and installed it. It didn’t change anything. Anyone else have any ideas?

Have you tried driving the speed it shutters in a different gear? Is it rpm related? Is it engine related or drive train. With what you have said i would think it could be any of the following; coil pack arcing, fuel injector or pressure, drive shaft u joints, center support bearing, drive shaft splines. It could be anything but those are things i would start checking first.

i have not tried different gears. I know it does it mainly when I and between 65 and 75. If I let off the gas, it will stop until I accelerate again. It also stops if I mash it. It has not thrown any codes, but the check engine light did come on tonight. I am going to hook it up to the reader in the morning and see if I can pull a fault code.

I bet it's a misfire. At that speed you are in OD which directly connects the engine and transmission and you will feel misfires lol

Sounds like a misfire. Check your codes and plugs as I have a v6 4L sohc explorer sport that's the same way in terms of symptoms and it has 2x engine to lean codes and 1x cylinder 3 misfire.

It pulled the P0300 code. Multiple misfires. Now I just have to figure out which one of the 15 things that causes it to happen it is.

Well the basics are fuel and sparkplugs ajd compression. Usually it's fuel related however in my experience.
