Default 2003 Dodge ram 1500 wont start

My 2003 dodge 1500 5.7 will not run unless I spray starting fluid in the intake. It will run as long as you spray the starting fluid as soon as you stop spraying it dies. Fuel pressure is 49psi. Where do I need to start?

Sounds like you aren't getting injector pulse. Getting any codes? (I would suspect cam position sensor first.)

That P0633 may be your issue. PCM doesn't recognize the key.......

This truck don't have the skim and uses the black key. Why would I have that code?

I think you are correct about the P0633 code. I think what has happen is at some point and time when this truck has been worked on by a couple shops and one dealer someone has either plugged in a skim module or replaced the computer that had a skim module previously. The truck has set for a year and no one has been able to fix it.

I'm getting a insturment cluster fault. It says skim message not received when I run the codes with a matco maxme. Does the skim got to go thru the insturment cluster? In other words if I send my pcm off and get it reprogrammed will I have to do anything with the instrument cluster? Can anyone recommend a good place to send my pcm to get it reprogrammed?

I don't know enough about how skim works..... but, could you haul it to the dealer, and have them check the programming??
