mpg on 3.7 question
i used to get about 15 in town and 18 on the interstate with some hard driving when i put my 4.10 gears in and still had the stock wheels now im getting about 13-13.9 n town
I usually avg. 18.5-19.5 mpg per tank with 17.1 the worst on my '03 V6 5 spd. I do about 75% freeway in So Cal. My buddy had an '03 1500 ST V6 5spd and he used to avg. 13 mpg mostly around town and he had a REAL leadfoot! Just bought an '06 1500 ST with 6spd which appears to now come with a 3:21 in place of the old 3:55 and it does appear to be getting better mileage but I am still on the first tank! We'll see...

First fill up after buying mine, ~15.4 mpg, probably 75% city/25% hwy, rarely if ever touching 3k RPMs. (Bought it used with ~36400 miles on it, not even 2 weeks ago yet).
Of course those were probably the most boring miles of my life, but I just wanted to see how it would do. Considering that I'm coming from having a 5.2L V8 Dakota that was getting 13 on mostly highway miles, this is a pretty large improvement.

I dont even bother on checking anymore. I know mine sucks. Now I got the 20's and must be worst. Whatever, I aint putting more money into it. I'll change it at 36,000 miles, which I am half way there. I read all those MDS HEMI guys getting 20-22 mpg, it pisses me off.
i think im gonna upgrade to the hemi. my mom wants to do it also. but it has to be the 2006. i have subwoofers in fiberglass in my truck so thats the only model (so far) that will let my box fit.

I don't know what you guys are bitching about...
my 2007 Ram 1500ST, six cylinder, six speed has more power than my 62 /6 town wagon with the 225 but is slower than my 68 D100 short, narrow, with the 318/727, 3.90 suregrip, with holley, glass pack and headers...
seriously, the new Ram I just got is heavier than my old town wagon, by 200 lbs and 1800 lbs heavier than the toyota pickup it replaced!
As for gas milage? the dealer filled the tank last week when I bought the truck!

2006 st 6 speed regular cab. I just put my second tank of gas in it and I got 16. Probably about 50/50 driving. It only has 700 miles though so I hope it gets a little better when it breaks in.
