truck didn't start

My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L wouldn't start this morning and couldn't figure out why but after a bit and pumping the gas pedal 4 or 5 times it started. Can anyone tell me why this happened?

Pumping the gas pedal really doesn't do anything. Think I would start with looking at fuel pressure.
