what is best idle speed for 4.7l dodge ram

Truck drinks too much gas. idle too high at time 1000-1500 rpm at light. idle up and down when ac is on

Fix the idle problem. It should idle around 6-700 rpm when fully warmed up, maybe slightly higher with a/c running.

You either have a vacuum leak, or bunked up throttle body.
