yeah I dont have one in the glove box and nothing on the axle, and unless you ask for higher gears, im pretty sure 3.21 is stock

 

my 2002 ram v6 has 3.55 im swapping them for 3.92 i think cuz i am having a hard time turning my 24 inch wheels.

 

You know the 2006 can get 3.73's. Its an option that the 2005 did not have. I would also like to swap them ma'self. I have seen step by step procedures and it does not look that hard. At least from the pictures. Also, I'll be shifting quicker than with the 3.21.

I spoke to a mechanic and he told me that putting lower gears (high numerical) would not save me gas, it would actually use more because it is harder to move? I was like, thats not what I read. He kept telling me that he was # of years doing this blah, blah.
So what is the deal macneal?

 

yeah hes right, lower gears is worst for gas, i am putting them in because, so far my truck is great on gas, I want the gears for more low end power, hauling wieght, towing trailers,

 

3.21 is stock for the st... and i dont think you can put a 4.11 or anything bigger in that rearend without replacing it for 2 grand ..but one question.... why wouldny you pay the extra $800 for the 4.7 if your worried about the towing and power... if you have already paid for a $20000 truck and you cant shell out an a few dollars a month for a v8 you shouldnt be buying a truck.. thats the lesson i learned.. dont rush and get what ya want so your happy... i didnt get lsd and its killin me

 

yeah your right, but im bored, and so far everything that iv done so far has paid off,

 

and u can put 4.10s in the chrysler housing for cheaper than 800$, im pretty sure you can fit 4.56s in too, and like i said, i BEAT 4.7s

 

im sorry i always thought you needed a bigger housing for 4.10s... i guess i was wrong.. and how much money have you put in to your truck for it to beat 4.7's?
