check engine light on 2005 dodge ram 1500 5.7 L after replacing egr valve.

I just got that code. It's the EGR valve. My Hemi has 102,000 miles on it.
Two days later it went off, but I'm replacing it anyway for preventative maintenance.

You can get them for under$50, but I went with MOPAR from RockAuto for $98 delivered

EDIT: I re-read your post and see you've just replaced it. I would give it time to turn off. Or check for something else going on with that system.

Disconnect your negative battery terminal and let the computer reset itself. See if it comes back on. Dumb question, but are you sure you put everything back together the right way? Never hurts to double check.
