Default 06 Hemi E85 conversion

Looking to get the E85 conversion kit for my mega and im running into an issue. The 1500 mega being built on 3/4 ton chassis do I have the 1500 version hemi or 2500 version hemi without MDS, Ive never noticed anything MDS related on it nor have I heard it kick in which leads me to believe it does not. Just want to be sure as it matters which kit I order. Also wondering if anyone else has done such a thing , if your over the shelf tuners still work with the E85 kit or if you need custom. tuning

Thanks

If you have an egr valve motor then its the 1500 set up. 2500's dont have egr. I read the other day that the 2500 doesnt have emission restrictions like the 1500 has, something about the weight of the truck makes it emissions exempt in a way. I would think you would need a custom tune for e85. Im not sure but i would think e85 would need a different air fuel ratio since it takes more ethanol vs gas.

1st, no, the Mega doesn’t have MDS. 2nd, why in the world would you want to run E-85? 3rd, a conversion would require much more than just a tune.

Gotta agree with this sentiment. The conversion is going to be a grand, at the very least, likely closer to 2, or more..... Sure, the fuel is less expensive, but, fuel economy is going to drop like a stone with E85 as well. Alcohol just has a lot less energy than gasoline. If you are hoping to make up the cost of the conversion with the savings in fuel costs....... You better plan on driving the truck for 20 years or so.

Im
not an expert on this obviously, why i'm asking I've tried to find if theres more required then just what they include in the kit but I haven't read anything to say it does .I've always ran E10 or E15 where available. Blender pumps have kinda fell off the earth but grand always ran E20 in his 90 Power Ram, Not trying to buy into any hype or anything or gain economy/performance but i'm a farmer gotta support myself. ive yet to see negative effects of running ethanol, run minimum E10 in everything form snowmobile to fourwheeler to cars trucks old tractors lawn mower old classic cars motorcyles ect. Then negative is about as much hype as the positive so if we could just please stay on the topic of the conversion itself, please and thank you.

Don't do the E-85 conversion.... you are just asking for trouble in my opinion. And anyone who has MDS, buy a programmer/tuner and disable that MDS piece of crap Chrysler invented.
