Pretty much the whole drivetrain plus computers, wiring harnesses, instrument cluster, etc. Putting and obd2 in an obd1 vehicle involves a bunch of things.

It will drop right in to anything that originally had it as an option. Dropping a hemi into a spot where it never came in from the factory is a major undertaking.

so hey guys a little update, found a organ donor. 2004 dodge ram 1500 with blown motor, tranny is good in it to,gonna go check it out this weekend. Only difference is it has a 4.7 instead of the 5.7, do they have the same computer and wiring harnesses? And do they have the same transmissions? I still have the transmission out of my totaled dodge is that's a problem.. I appreciate any and all knowledgeable help, I'm kinda teaching myself as I go along I work on my own vehicles, but this is taking it to new depths for me! Thanks again you guys

I *think* the engine will bolt up to the trans, but, if the trans in your truck is better/meaner/badder/more, I would be tempted to swap 'em both. Not 100% sure, but, I think you will need to change the wiring harness, and PCM as well. (and then have it flashed to the correct vin, so it won't complain about it.)
