Default Leak from LINES..

Hello to all....I am seeking help from you guys concerning my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, 4.7 V-8 pickup.

I have a leak that I need to repair and I would like to know the following:

1- Have any of you performed this particular repair, and if so, how easy / difficult was it to complete?
2- Do you know the name of the pipe / line?
3- Do you know the fair price I should pay for this item?

I have posted a 2 pics of the area I am talking about. In the pic, you will see that I used some tape to tape the leak.....

Look to me like automatic transmission oil cooler lines, routing from side of the transmission along side the engine up to the radiator. Either to an internal cooling loop inside the radiator or an external auxiliary cooler up front.
These are usually mostly bent steel lines, may have short hose section at the front. As they age, the hose deteriorates around the crimp to the steel line. Generally, repair is replacement of the whole line. Cut the wrapper off, let's see what is under it. I suspect is the hose crimps.

Thank you for your reply FaceDeAce. Yes, you confirmed me original assumption that its the "Transmission oil cooler lines." Unfortunately, I haven't been back under there to slice the tape. But I can tell you that its metal, but it doesn't have a crimp. The crimp is upwards towards the radiator like.

I called AutoZone, and Advance auto, and they both don't carry this. The stealership wants $200 for both lines. Is this fair? Can i get it somewhere else for a better price?

thanks

Check RockAuto or Google your year truck and just add "Transmission Lines"

I was on Ebay for half the night and no luck. While they did have quite a few of the lines, for some unknown reason all of those didn't fit my truck...Go Figure......It's not like my truck is unique or anything.
