What year is your truck? Manufacturer says new valve springs are required. (probably due to more lift than the stock springs are designed for.) A link to the cam in question would be good.

Huh, now on the summit page, the only 'suggested part' is the timing set...... Think I would verify what max lift is on the stock springs.... Might be a good idea to have a chat with Summit, (or Howards) to verify the information.

Ive done some research on cams for the 5.7. Lots of info on the lx forum. From what ive read and if i remember correctly the 6.1 exhaust spring has the same assembled height as he 5.7 intake and exhaust springs. The 6.1 intake spring is .1 inch more height. The pushrods are used from the 6.1 because the base circle on the cam is ground from a 6.1 core. The 6.1 cam has a .030 smaller base circle. Some people have there heads milled instead of swapping push rods. Not sure if im allowed to link to the LX forum but there is tons more cam swap info on their site. Are you doing any custom tuning on your set up? Any other mods?

yes because 6.1 Intake are taller but the 6.1 exhaust spring are the same size as 5.7 intake and exhaust spring.
