Default Airbag Switch

I have a 2004 Dodge 1500, single cab, 5.7L. The airbag light is on, so i went to these forums and found that it is often the Passenger disarm switch. I purchased one today and installed it. There was no change. I still do not have the littel amber light in the switch itself, and the red airbag light on my dash is illuminated. One intersting thing I've noticed is that the part number that I was told to get for my vehicle, 56045496AA, is not the same part number as the switch that I removed from the vehicle. The existing switch was 5HD98XDVAA. I am a novice, but are these switches interchangeable? When I research the existing switch, it comes up for a 2003 Dodge. The parts house didn't give me any reason to suspect that I was getting the wrong switch. I can turn a wrench, I am just not "car" savy yet. Any suggestions or thoughts about how I should proceed?

You need to plug in with a scanner that can read the SRS codes. Just throwing parts at it can get really expensive, as there are quite a few of them in the system.
