PCM Issues
Hi Dodge fans! This is first time actually posting something but I read a lot of your stuff, and it is great stuff! So from the beginning, my 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi smoked the coil pack on #7 cylinder. Easy fix, right? Well the truck has over 321K miles on it so I replaced all 8 coil packs, new wires and a fresh set of OE plugs. Started her up and threw a PO307, #7 cylinder miss fire. Did some troubleshooting and found my PCM lost its path to ground for that coil pack which makes sense after the small coil pack fire! I had ran the truck several days on 7 coil packs without an issue as I unplugged the smoked coil before the tune up. I was doing that again and she dropped to 4 cyl in Baltimore City which is really a bad thing. Ok so time to buy a PCM. Did some research on PCM's, companies and reviews. Got one from "the only Computer Exchange company that tests its units". Took over a week to get it, dropped it in only to get a jumping idle from 1000 to 1400 rpms, red lightening bolt on and no gas pedal response. Called tech support - "Send it back and we will fix it" WHAT? Sent it back, a week later after I called again, they said the PCM was fine and refunding my $$ - Again WHAT? Heard about Chris at Hotwires from this forum, a little more but I am back on the road after 3 weeks. I am posting all of that to help save someone else's marriage..LOL Problem - Running great now but I have a flashing ABS light which I have read needs reset. Can I do this manually or is there a trick? I hate dealers so that is my last resort. Any help will be appreciated!
