Default oil pressure gauge

Hey so I have a 2008 ram 2500 and the other day I felt the guage wasn't reading right and now today it didn't even move and yes I do have oil in the truck if you were wondering. But what would cause this to happen, we have had a lot of snow and cold would that be a issue? thanks

Sender is probably bad, or the pump. You can put a mechanical gauge on it to verify.

I assume you have a 5.7 gas engine.
Any unusual engine noises? Any reason to think there might be a blockage in your oil filter? What does oil pressure gauge do on start-up?
If all else is normal, what I would do is get a loaner oil pressure gauge from auto parts store. Remove the oil sender (above the oil filter), and check for at least 4psi at warm idle and 25 psi at 3000 rpm.
If that's all good, replace the sender.

That just points even more toward a failing sensor.

Yep, I'd say just replace the sender. You'll need a 1 1/8 deep socket.
